During the development phase we define and validate the product across the extremes of the design envelope, in close collaboration with our customers.
The first step is understanding the function and requirements. What is driving the need for customisation or individualisation? What are the functional requirements and how will we verify that they are met?
Developing a customisable product is challenging because it requires us to anticipate inter-dependencies between design and manufacturing variables, but it is also an incredibly powerful way to add value for the customer.
AUTOMATE
Automation is the key to making customisable products viable.
We use the Genome framework to link the processes between the specification and the manufacturing data generation for the various production steps.
With automation of these processes we can handle each custom part in production in an efficient way without manual intervention, which is essential to enable a cost effective product.
DEPLOY
Our Genome web-based front end platform enables us to deploy your configurable product via an online configurator. This can either be a stand-alone site utilising our 3D cad-like configurator with built-in user registration and payment system, or it can be integrated with your existing web shop system via our API.
When your customer places a verified order, it automatically launches our production workflow. No e-mails, no phone-calls.
DELIVER
Once an order is placed and verified, the Genome platform places the order request, including the automatically generated production data, into our production workflow.
We produce the custom parts and ship them to your customer according to your specifications, including packaging.
