Purge Line Splitter
The purge line splitter from Ti6Al4V was developed within a cooperation project between Airbus Defence and Space and APWORKS.
3D-Printed from titanium alloy powder using a Metal Powder Bed Fusion process, this qualified manifold is going to fly on Meteosat Third Generation Sounder Satellite and distributes purging gas within the Sentinel 4 instrument.
The use of Additive manufacturing allowed faster design iterations, thereby reducing the development time significantly and decreasing the weight by 20%.
