Geometries, weight & topology.

Metallic 3D printing allows more freedom in component design. Many more complex geometries are possible than with conventional methods such as milling or welding. In addition, components can be made using less material for notably less weight. An optimized Topology is obtained using Altair’s OptiStruct®, to determine the loading on components and to identify the ideal load path. In addition, new functional elements can be integrated and complex parts developed that integrate multiple component groups. With additive manufacturing, redesigns of original components can reach new quality levels.
